Gary McClarty, managing director of MCLInsureTech, discusses the company's success:

“When we launched the Its4women brand in Ireland a decade ago we were the first bespoke online insurance business in the market. There was no guarantee that our business model would be successful. However, it soon became clear that Irish consumers wanted to have the flexibility and freedom to source their car, travel and home insurance online.

“Buoyed by the popularity of Its4women.ie, we introduced the 25plus.ie brand, which offers online home, car, travel, health and property insurance for the over 25s, to our portfolio. In 2013 we launched our telematics brand, Boxymo.ie, which rewards better driving and offers younger drivers competitive insurance.”

Staff numbers at the Coleraine-based organisation have more than tripled over the last decade, up from 30 to 102. Ten new jobs will be created in the next six months and a further 40 new jobs are envisaged over the next three to five years. Discussing the company’s expansion plans Mr McClarty adds:

"We aim to replicate the success that the company has achieved in the last decade in the Irish market by rolling out a major expansion plan in Northern Ireland. The first phase of this strategy is the recent launch of our flagship Its4Women insurance brand.

“To increase brand awareness the launch is being supported with a £1million advertising and sponsorship campaign. It's a significant but strategic investment which will help us to achieve our aim of securing 5% to 10% of the Northern Ireland online car insurance market within five years."

Mr McClarty adds: "As part of the expansion ten new jobs will be created in the next six months. Further investment in our IT and contact centre businesses is also planned, which should deliver an additional 40 new jobs across a range of disciplines over the next three to five years. It's a really exciting time for MCLInsureTech."

Explaining MCLInsureTech's unique online proposition, Mr McClarty adds:

"We are passionate about everything online and are constantly embracing new ways of working to give customers the best possible online experience. We have the technological know-how and expertise to create innovative online loyalty services that will enhance the lives of customers who choose us as their online car insurance partner. We also market test our IT solutions in a real-time environment, enabling us to continuously improve the end result for both the consumer and business user.

"At the backend, our systems are designed to provide as much automation through the administrative process to increase efficiency and reduce errors. Our software solutions give us an edge in the competitive online insurance market."

MCLInsureTech also own a software programming company DotSys Ltd which provides financial software solutions to the financial services industry.
